I hate to admit it, but I actually agree with Ryanair on this one:

Thanks for posting that! I had no idea that any "alternative" forms of I.D. were acceptable for use in Italy, as I've always used my Passport.

It's a bit odd that they would accept a fishing or hunting license as "acceptable" I.D. for boarding a flight?

I agree with Ryanair too, but I'll take Alitalia again when h--l freezes over
