Our ship gets into the Civit. Port at 5am to disembark. Would it be possible to make the 8:00 train from Civit. to Rome? We will only have our backpacks and will be doing a self-disembark

Jason , the time a boat arrives in port and the time they are ready to let you leave the ship is two different things. Does your cruise information package specifically SAY that disembarking will begin at 5 am? As others have said, you need to contact your cruise line, guessing would be bad. And I also urge you as previous poster has, to get on cruisecritics.com website and go on their Royal Caribbean forums for your exact cruise.. you will be specific answers there. not here.

We've disembarked from Celebrity ships (a Royal Caribbean line) several times there. With the usual delays in being cleared by the local authorities it is highly unlikely you will be able to make the 8:00 train. Once you get to the port exit on the shuttle bus it is only a 15 minute walk to the station. The site roninrome.com has very good details about getting to the station. TC
