Route Planner Paris for Metro/RER

I've tried the RATP one, but didn't like ot. Does anyone have a recommendation for an Android phone that is simple to use?

I use GoogleMaps almost 100% of the time these days both for Metro and bus in Paris as well as most everywhere we travel. Very easy and reliable.

Google Maps also includes walking directions and includes buses; sometimes a bus is actually faster/easier than a metro or RER. Sometimes it's quicker to walk somewhere than to take a metro.

I use Google Maps all over Europe - works pretty well for me. Last time I used it in Paris, I got in trouble with it a few times because it wasn't aware of construction on the RER lines.

Some people prefer the Citymapper app instead - haven't tried it.

Thank you,I use Google maps all the time but I am specifically looking for an Android ap specific to the metro/RER. There were several in the play store and I was hoping folks would have recommendations on their favorites.

CityMapper integrates all the information from metros, buses, and trams and tells you how long it will take you to get to your destination, taking rail hiccups and traffic congestion into account.

It’s a must-have for me here at home in Paris, and for London too.

(P.s. includes the walking portions too and also estimates how long a cab or Uber would take)

Just tested City Mapper in Paris AND in London. This is definitely what I was looking for. Easy to use, even gives calories when walking. I love it. Thanks, everyone.

Laurie Beth, I'm glad you like it. Yes, I love the humor they use too (options for transport will often include something silly like Catapult or Magic Carpet — and of course they also provide the estimated time for those! Click on one for Paris, and it will do a silly thing with Macron. Maybe if Boris Johnson becomes the new PM in the U.K., they'll add a zipline option for London).

And yes the calories burned is another fun silly thing — you have burned off .0012 croissants. Haha

Also for Paris provides information on nearby Velib stations or those #*)’f#)$)&’f murdeous electric scooters, with how many available at nearby stations and how long it would take you to get to your destination on one. Also provides estimated times by Uber and taxi (I love how it shows me it will normally take longer to get to most of my regular destinations by surface traffic than metro — simply reflecting the truth!)

You can select each option (or the ones you're interested in) to see how much the walking is vs. the bus or metro ride, etc etc, then back out to see another one and then back out to choose the one you really want to do. I think it is the most fabulous app, and I can't believe it is free!! It's a life changer for city residents or visitors.

We used Citymapper on our trip in March. Worked great.
