Round-trip Transportation From Positano to Revallo For Music Festival

I would like to attend a concert at the Ravello Music Festival on Sept. 30th. I will be staying in Positano and want to know: the best way to get to and from the Ravello Music Festival; the approx.cost of transportation.
The concert starts late, at 9:30 PM and finishes at approx. 11-11:30PM. Any help would be most appreciated.

For the trip to Ravello, you can take a SITA bus or a ferry to Amalfi, then catch the local bus up to Ravello. Neither is very expensive. If you're going to return to Positano right after the concert, you're going to have to hire a taxi or private driver. Buses and ferries don't run at that hour. The last bus out of Amalfi is at 11 PM. The bus ride between Ravello and Amalfi is 15-20 minutes. Between Positano and Amalfi, about 40 minutes. Ferry info: http://tinyurl.com/8dksydm Bus schedule: http://tinyurl.com/9avj8n5

Thank you very much.
Would you know the approx. cost of a taxi from Villa Rufolo to Positano ( top of the hill, Hotel Villa Franca)? Also, will the bus go up to the Villa or stop only in town? I am assuming that Villa Rufolo is further up in the hills than the main town. Is this correct?

Ravello is tiny; you can easily cover it on foot. In fact, cars aren't even allowed in the town. The Villa Rufolo is just off the main square. Can't help you with taxi costs. Be sure to get to the town during daylight; the views are the best on the entire Amalfi coast.

Tom... Thank you.
Can you tell me if the walk to Villa Rufolo is difficult. I can walk uphill on mild grades, and for a max. Of 4 hours, but many steps (over 150 )aren't easy, as I have bad osteoarthritis in my right knee.

Here's a link to a map of Ravello. Note that the scale is 1 inch = 300 feet. http://tinyurl.com/8qal27v The walk to Villa Rufolo is short. There are some mildly sloping walkways if you explore around the town, but nothing that I'd call steep. I have a bit of a bad knee too, and I didn't have any problems.

When we were staying in Amalfi, we also attended one of the concerts in Ravello. One of the travel agents in town advised us to prebook a taxi for the return trip because, she said, the line-up after the concert could be very long; and as another poster has said, the buses don't run that late. We did as she suggested. I think it cost around $30; but that was 10 years ago. Why don't you check with your hotel for more up-to-date prices. BTW, I suggest that you plan to spend at least part of the day seeing Ravello. You could go by bus; have a nice dinner after sightseeing; and then, attend the concert.

Tom..the map of Ravello is wonderful. Thank you. What was your source? I would be interested in comparable maps for Amalfi town, Capri, Sorrento, Priano, etc.

How lucky you are to be able to have this experience. Ravello is one of my favourite memories. Definitely make the time to arrive early and enjoy the villa, its gardens and the views of the Amalfi Coast. I'm sure you would be able to arrange to share a taxi back to Positano after the concert.
