I have been using the rome2rio.com site to get an estimate about what fares may cost and which trains/buses to use.
I was just wondering how close in accuracy of costs the site was?

Not very since there are so many variables (departure time, day of week, advance purchase, etc) It's a little better on relative cost.
Its main value is looking at time for the various means of transportation.

I use the Rome2Rio website for time and method of travel comparisons all the time, but never for the cost since it's often based on full-fare tickets purchased on or near day of travel.
