Rome: Which airport? FCO or CIA?

Hi we are planning to fly from Paris to Rome. Just wondering which arriving aiport would be a better choice in terms of checking out luggage and easier transportation and closer to the Rome center? Thanks.

Easyjet: Orly -> CIA
Vueling: Orly -> FCO

Hi Jenny,

We've flown into both airports--I'd chose FCO, mainly because of the direct "Leonardo Express" train that connects from the airport to Rome's central Termini train station in about 30 minutes.

CIA is a smaller airport with bus service into the city--just less convenient.

Hi Jenny. Either airport is fine. CIA is smaller, and MUCH easier to get through, though FCO is fine. Cab fair is a fixed 36EUR fixed rate from CIA to Downtown, and really quite affordable for more than 2 people. It's also a fairly pleasant drive with interesting areas to go through. You also don't have to lug your bags off and on the bus, and the taxi will take yu directly to whereyou are going, rather than bus into the city, unload luggage, then figure out how to get to your hotel (probably another bus or cab).
