rome to venice train transfers

We are going from Rome Airport to Venice by train. Plan on taking Leonardo express to grand terminal. How much time should we allow once we have our bags to catch the train? Thank you

Once we have our bags from where? Airplane? Immigrations? Which train? Direct to Rome or a connecting flight? A few more details would be helpful if you want a good answer. If coming from the states direct to Rome, the big variable is immigrations - maybe 30 mins, maybe 2 hours. The LE to Termini is 30 mins plus any wait time for the train - max of 25 mins since the train runs twice an hour. Once at Termini another 15 to 20 mins to find the platform and train to Venice. Maybe throw in another 15 mins for a water closet stop.

From the carousels and depending on how much stuff you have , about fifteen to thirty minutes to the Leonardo station . The time frame
between them is actually immaterial from the standpoint of making a connection ( providing you have not purchased a ticket from Roma Termini to Venezia Santa Lucia . ) Once at the Leonardo station at the airport you will buy the ticket to Rome and the ticket for Rome to Venice as well ( They will sell you Rome to Venice timed so you can make the transfer at Roma Termini ) When you purchase the tickets , you hop the next train leaving for Rome . Make sure you validate that ticket in the machine before boarding the Leonardo .
