My friend and I are planning a side trip from Rome to Venice. we are considering the train from Rome to Venice - Maestre, staying at a hotel nearby and flying out of Marco Polo airport. How far is the train station from the airport? upon arrival in Venice if we take the train, do we need to go to the airport to get transportation to our hotel ?

If you take the train, you most likely can walk to your hotel. Goggle map will give the distance between station and airport.

Barbara, Just curious, why are you travelling to Venezia Mestre rather than Venezia Santa Lucia (which is the best station for Venice).
