rome to sorrento

I am arriving at Rome airport at 8.05pm on a Friday evening and would like to get to Sorrento that evening. I know that usually the 4 hour bus that leaves Rome at 6am each morning would work iif I left the next day but I want to get to Sorrento that evening. Is the train the only way or is there another financially viable and time saving option?

Besides the bus from the Tiburtina station with Curreri Viaggi (not operative in winter), the only other financially viable option is the train. Train from FCO to Roma Termini (35 min) Train from Roma Termini to Napoli Centrale (70 min)
Vesuviana commuter train from Napoli Centrale to Sorrento (70 min). The train option is actually faster than any other public tranport option in spite of the multiple train changes. The fastest option is a rental car or a private transfer (noleggio con conducente). From FCO to Sorrento is probably a 3 hours' drive.
