Is it better to buy a bus ticket from Rome to Siena in advance? They advertise a 5 euro rate, but when attempting to purchase for March 16 the rate is 9 euros. Also, we keep getting a message that says the order didn't go through and to try later. Suggestions?
There could be a malfunction in their system.
If the fare jumped from 5 to 9 euros, it may be a seasonal adjustment, but I doubt it. Keep trying; phone them if there is a toll free number somewhere on their webpage.
Carol,
It might be easier just to buy the ticket when you get to Rome. If you're going to be in Rome for a few days before going to Siena, you should have no trouble getting a ticket.
Happy travels!
Actually, we're arriving on 3/16 at 7am & were planning to leave at 12:30pm. That should give us time to get from Fiumicino to Tiburtina. Do you agree? I called Sena and was told the 5 euro tickets had been sold out but that was before I tried to put the charge through. Will call tomorrow if no luck by then. We could buy our tickets there but were hoping to save a few euros. Thanks for your suggestions.
Thanks for your help. We were finally able to get through & have made our reservations!
