We are planning a trip to italy--we will haver 3 days in Rome in route to Israel, and then return to Rome for 15 days to travel and end in Paris--we arrive in Rome on Monday May 6 to start the 15 days. We would appreciate suggestions on routes and places to stop, etc..
That's a pretty general question. I would suggest taking time either coming or going to tour Rome. You'll need just a little more than 3 days. Then, take a train up to Florence and the Tuscany area just south of Florence. Venice is worth 2-3 days, and it's just 2 yrs. northeast of Florence. Fly from Venice to Paris. Italy has so much culture, food, art and history that it's best seen slowly. You might want to get Rick Steves' tour guide of Italy, and they're often available in your local library. They can give you specific places to visit.
Have a great time.
