Good evening. Our group of (4) will be traveling from Trastevere, Rome to Olbia, Sardinia on 5/19/26. We are looking for advice for the best options. We were planning on taking the train from the Trastevere Train station, to Roma Termini taking the high speed train to Naples Centrale, and finally taking the airport shuttle to the Naples Airport (NAP). The flight from Naples to Olbia using Easy Jet has a 60 minute duration.
It would be wonderful to be able to take a flight from Rome to Olbia however I do not see flights posted that are direct flights I only see rather expensive flights with excessive layovers. Is it too early to be looking ? Perhaps the flights aren't posted yet?
Along with the cost and durations, I am worried that taking the train trip from Rome to Naples Centrale could take 2 - 3 hrsand may not allow us to get to the Naples airport with an addiitonal 2-3 hours for the flight.
Are there better options?
Thanks in advance - Maria
You may be looking too early-Rome normally has several good, short connections with multiple carriers. including Easyjet.
Thank you so much. I am hoping this is the case.

You can also take a ferry from Civitavecchia. There are several companies operating that route. There is something special about arriving on an island by boat...
