rome to nice...need help!!!!

I am very overwhelmed..we are a family of 4 traveling to Europe for 5 weeks. We leave next week.I think I have done everything I can except book my train from Rome to Nice..Summer hours are now running so my question is do I take a train from Rome to Milan then to Nice or Rome to Genova and then to Nice...Both trains arrive aprox. the same time..Thanks for all your help..I have enjoyed all the posts I have read and also used the advice given..

Makes no difference as long as you end in the right place. Take the one that is the cheapest or the quickest. No difference -- take Genova it will be more scenic.

I agree with Frank. It doesn't matter if all things are equal. You will go through Genoa on either run. However, I do see quite a difference in travel time and price depending on which run you select. The runs with the ESAV trains going to Milan with a transfer to an EC train are 105Euros. Ouch. Other runs with ES*city and R trains going to Genoa are 55Euro. Quite a difference. CLICK HERE to see what I see.
