Rome to Florence to Venice to Geneva....--best plan?

My family of 4 will start in Romego by train to Florencego by train to Venice and then we need to get to Geneva from Venice. What sort of railpass is recommended? I am most concerned with Venice to Geneva leg and it has been recommended that I might want to fly this route. One child is 18 and one is 15.
Our trip will start in Rome on 7/26 and we need to be in Geneva on 8/2. Easyjet does not fly on 8/2.

Hi Paul. For Venice to Geneva, if you go by train, a railpass is not recommended; see schedules on site trenitalia.com. You could buy in advance for a discount, or wait and buy when there. Venice to Milan is a high speed train - 2.5 hours; Milan to Geneva is a direct train - 4 hours. You could do it easily in one day; or spend an afternoon / evening in Milan, then next morning to Geneva.
Enjoy your trip!
