Rome to Civitavecchia

We're doing a cruise in Nov. We will go one day early to Rome and hope to stay in an inexpensive B&B. Can anyone tell us the quickest, cheapest way to get to the cruise port of Civitavecchis? Would appreciate some help. Lois
