I'm flying into Rome for the first time via Lufthansa and expect to arrive in Terminal B. I need to meet my mother (age 69) who is arriving via American Airlines in Terminal C. We want to board the Leonardo Express together to get to Termini Station. Will my mother, who is not a seasoned traveler, have trouble finding the train station at FCO? Any suggestions on where we can meet at the train station (i.e. an easy to identify sign or landmark?) Or is the station small enough to be able to say meet at the ticket counter?? Our flights are suppose to arrive within 15 minutes of each other, but you know how that goes!
The signage is good. It is a bit of walk, probably a third of the O'Hare Blue Line hike from United. The station is very small so you would not miss her. Again it is about half the size of the O'Hare start point with one door in and out of the pickup area. The ticket window is to your immediate left when you enter. If the window is closed or a long line, just go to the tobacco shop across from the ticket window.
Frank, thanks a million.
Julie,
As of 2 weeks ago (my last trip to FCO to meet friends) the “C” terminal was still under renovation. Thus all flights arriving at C Terminal were exiting the Arrivals Area through “B” Terminal – so it appears that you MAY arrive through the same terminal!
If C Terminal is open for your mother the train station is out the Arrivals door of C and turn RIGHT – go a short distance and look to your left for the escalator to the trains! For you arriving at B (or her also!), you would also exit RIGHT out of the frosted, sliding glass doors, and ALSO GO RIGHT… You will walk PAST the “C” terminal Arrival Area . Next on your left you will see signage for the trains – And as Frank notes, the signage is good! Ride an escalator to an elevated train station. There you will see kiosks and counters where you can buy Leonardo Express tickets.
Ciao,
Ron
Note - preparing for the worst...
If either of you has a HUGE delay, there is a MEETING POINT outside of Terminal B Arrival Doors just on your left as you come through the doors. The “spot” does have a HUGE sign that says (in English?) MEETING POINT! Good Luck!
Ciao,
Ron
Ron, many thanks for the additional good tips.
