Define best for you. Cheapest, fastest, least amount of schlepping?

Most of the trains to Civit.... are Regionale. Absolutely no advantage to purchasing tickets on-line - no discount. There are three or four trains an hour taking between 45 mins and 1.15 depending on the train. Buy them when you need them. On-line tickets come with more restrictions.

Rome is huge and there are thousands of restaurants were local goes along with tourists. When in Rome will you be? What level of dinning do you want? Fast food - to white table cloth.

Ask your hotel front desk for a good restaurant suggestion. Every time I plan to visit a specific restaurant, I end up not liking the menu or the prices and end up elsewhere.
Note: Weekend trains to Civitavecchia are once per hour. Once off the train, hou will need to catch a city bus (2€) or take a cab the 1 mile+ to the front of the port. Once inside the port, a bus will take you to your ship.

You need to check schedules. There are two trains an hour on Saturday and one per hour on Sunday.
