Does anyone have an idea what impact the May 1 holiday and the Pope Paul II beatification will have on staying in Rome during these dates?

Possibly two million people may be on hand for the Beatification, so accommodations, transportation, and eating establishments will be overwhelmed. On the other hand, this is a great opportunity to be present for a very historic event. If you decide to go, it would be best to make prepaid reservations for accommodations as soon as possible. Consider staying outside the City and commuting in daily. Good luck.
