I am having trouble navigating the atac site. Does anyone know if Tram #8 operates on Sunday? And, if so, what the hours of operation are?

Click on the date you want, for example 01/09/13 for tomorrow. You will see that the origination towards Piazza Venezia (northbound) starts tomorrow (Sunday the 1st Sep) at 05:10, has 150 departures and the last starts at midnight. The red P on the map means departure and the red A on the map means arrival. I hope this helps.
