Roissybus?

Just wondering if there is anything special about taking the Roissybus from CDG into Paris----the host at our apartment rental gave me instructions on how to get to the apartment that included the Roissybus followed by another bus. I see that the Roissybus costs close to 10 euros each.

When I tried the user-friendly RATP website for directions, using various criteria (i.e. short walking distance etc.), I got several other routes, also with just 1 connection, and taking the same time or less. I assume the regular busses cost far less than the 10 euro each for the Roissybus?

So what is the advantage of the Roissybus? Thanks! :)

Sarah, see my post on the Roissy Bus under Transportation dated 7/13. Several questions answered about the bus. I plan on using it for my trip from CDG in Sept. It goes from CDG to the Opera Garnier station. I'm sure there are stops in between but it is an easy bus to catch @ CDG and is 8.50 euro and takes about 50 minutes.

Thanks!

Yeah, I see that someone in that thread indicated it's the cheap option to get from CDG to the city...

I guess I have to wrap my head around the concept that 8-10 euros is "cheap" haha...about half that buys a pass to ride on ALL of Metro Vancouver transit ALL day, and people here still like to complain about the cost :)

The advantage of the Roissybus is that it is a dedicated airport shuttle bus that goes non-stop between CDG and Opera.

There was a fare increase on 1 July for public transportation in Paris. The Roissybus now costs €8.90.

There are two city buses that go between CDG and Paris and they make frequent stops. #350 goes from CDG to Gare de l'Est. #351 goes from CDG to Nation. The fare is three t+ metro/bus tickets. A single ticket now costs €1.60. A carnet of ten tickets now costs €11.60.

Be aware that single tickets bought from a bus driver rather than at a metro station or a designated outlet cost €1.70. So if you take the Roissybus to Opera and buy a city bus ticket from the driver of the bus that will get you to your apartment, you will pay €8.90 + €1.70.
