Roissy-Bus (CDG)

This is the bus R/S Tour dept recommended for me to get from CDG to the train station I need in Paris. Has anyone taken this bus. Think I arrive terminal #2 on AA. Does it say Roissy on the front, where did you go to catch this bus or any other info will be helpful.

I haven't taken it but have seen it in Paris. It leaves from a stop by the main Paris Opera: don't look for a big terminal, it's just an ordinary city bus stop on the street. If you can't find the stop there should be a map just inside the Metro station. Also as I remember it's run by ordinary city buses: no luxury coach.

Sorry: just noticed you were asking about CDG to central Paris instead of vice-versa.

I have never used the Roissy Bus, but according to the website (info to follow) you can board it at Term. 2A &2C outside Entrance (Porte) A9. For Term. 2D &2B outside Porte D11.

I don't think you wan the Roissybus--maybe you mean the #4 Air France bus, which goes to Gares Lyon and Montparnasse.

I took this bus to Gare Lyon four years ago. It was right outside of the door from emigration. Sorry, I don't remember which terminal, but the information is online.

You need cash to pay the driver for your ticket.

I imagine these buses can get stuck in traffic, but my experience was great--we made an early train and got to Beaune before lunch.

I just got back from Paris this weekend (Continental, terminal 2), and took the Roissybus from the airport. It's very easy to catch, and will be labelled on overhead signage just like the trains, etc.

Once you reach the door to exit the terminal (the one marked "Roissybus"), just step outside and wait a few minutes. The bus is clearly identified as the Roissybus, and you can buy your ticket from the driver.

I rode early in the morning and arrived at Opera far earlier than I thought we would! Good luck!

Thanks for the help and info. I do want the Roissy bus as it goes to the Opera Garnier Metro Stop to catch a train to Gare St. Lazare. That is where the trains leave for Bayeux. Much easier than several trains and stations from CDG.

Looks like the Roissy Bus will be easy to find.

Thanks again

Tony you could really walk from the Opera House to the Gare St. Lazare if you don't have much to carry.
I have done that several times. You could walk off your plane legs!!

We have used the Roissy bus several times over the years. It is the cheapest route to and from CDG. It is a fast little bus, so hold on and enjoy a quicker trip than the larger, more expensive Air France Coach. You can buy your ticket at the outside kiosk at CDG and at Rue Scribe in front of the American Express Office. We always purchased the tickets before boarding the bus. Make sure you have enough Euros and coin available - at least 100 in case you do need to take a cab. All these buses are popular with tourists and are often crowded in the summer, but we never missed a plane using them. I have had bad experience with French Gypsey Cabs/Taxis so be careful out there.

Thanks Robert, looks like the Roissy Bus is the way to go. I think it will also be much easier than the metro with the directions I have gotten. Also a good way to see some of Paris.

We took the Roissy Bus into Paris last year. There are no signs in the airport pointing to where they are until you get to the correct exit door so be sure you have very clear directions where to go in the airport. I posted directions on this board last year but I'm sure it's pretty buried by now. After you exit the building, you will cross the one land street to a small building where a man sells tickets. You will need Euros.

It lets you off at the Opera. For anyone else reading this who needs to get to the Opera Metro stop, it is impossible to see unless you know just where to go. We never did find it, even after asking two local people. Ask the bus driver to point it out for you or have very clear directions where to go after you get off the bus.
