ROISSY-BUS AT cdg

We are coming into CDG (T2E) in a few weeks and are planning to take the Roissy-Bus into Paris just so we can "see" something on the way to the Opera Metro Stop. Where do we pick up the Bus at T2E? Rick shows at the "East" end of the terminal, my other source "Paris by Train" says anywhere along the arrivals level road (flag the driver). What's the answer? JimP

There are signs inside the terminals that are easy to spot.

There were two of us and we didn't find signs about Roissybus anywhere and it took us a long time to find it. I knew what terminal and what area but it ended up being a floor above where we were lookingthe top floor. They have a ticket counter there as well. Making connections at L'Opera was not easy either. It is just about impossible to see the L'Opera metro stop. Be sure to find it on a satellite view map so you can see exactly what you are looking for. Then, you have to take your luggage down and back up lots of steps. We landed at 7:30 am and we didn't get to our hotel on Rue Cler until around noon. We were exhausted from the difficult and slow trip. We drove through a dirty, low end part of Paris-not scenic at all. The money saved wasted a lot of time.

We arrived in Paris in April when the RER was closed for maintenance on a Sunday morning and were forced to take the Roissy Bus. We found the bus stop in T2E easily because there were many signs, but were confused by similarly named buses arriving at the stop next to ours. Roissy Bus definitely says Roissy Bus all over it, so don't be fooled by "imposters"! Other than the fact that it was packed the day we took it because of the RER issue, we found it easy and would do it again. Upon arriving in Paris we of course set off the wrong way because we followed the directions in Rick's book, but the bus parked in a different spot (again because of the RER, I think). But we were still let off behind the Opera, and it was pretty evident that we were on the back side of a grand building so we eventually got ourselves turned around. If you've never been to Paris before spotting the Metro would probably be difficult, but if you look out "in the middle of the street" in front of the Opera you'll notice stairs coming up in a center island and that's the Metro.

Metro stations aren't that hard to find. They'll all marked with a sign that says "Metro". And yes, stairs coming up into the sidewalk, with walls around the entrance. Joan
