Hi,
I will be staying in Roermond Holland for several days and am looking for the best day trips. One of the places I was hoping to visit is Bruges (without an overnight stay). The information I found indicated that it would be at least a seven hour train ride. Any suggestions for the best places to see within a couple of hours from Roermond and any idea if I can get Bruges quicker than seven hours? THANKS!!

I´m seeing mostly 3.5 to 4 hour one way rides (is the 7 hours you quoted for a round trip?). Unless you rent a car for the day, you won´t find anything quicker. Unfortunately for you, Roermond is a peripheral city that isn´t on any of the main high speed lines. ]That´s why it takes so long to get to Brugge.
