Would like advice on the best time to take the trans-Canada train trip from Vancouver to Toronto to see Fall foliage. Google states mid-September to mid-October, but we'd like to hear from folks who've actually done the trip or who are weather wizards.
Also wondering if anyone has information on the best tour companies: interested in a 11/12 day tour on the Rocky Mountaineer connecting with the VIA train system.

This was one of my first trip reports and has too many words. Lol. But you can maybe scan for ideas. It was cheaper than the Rocky Mountaineer and, with the stop in Jasper, did what I wanted.
