Hi, I have to travel from Venice to Lucerne - unfortunately due to late booking, all trains are booked. I was thinking of a road journey - maybe a taxi or coach from Venice to Lucerne - is it possible - what will be the time taken and cost incurred ? Thanx in anticipation

Using this train website: http://bahn.hafas.de/bin/query.exe/en I saw that there is a train available on June 27 at 1620 that arrives in Lucerne at 2241. It's a 6 1/2 hour train trip. I don't think it would be possible to take a taxi. This train website also shows the trip going by bus and train. However, it's an overnight trip that goes through Rome and takes about 13 hrs.
