RIP SeatGuru...

I've been noticing how out-of-date SeatGuru's maps are. Curiosity drove me to look at their social channels, none of which have had posts since pre-pandemic.

I messaged TripAdvisor, their parent, and got the following reply, "We no longer provide any support for SeatGuru. The service has been discontinued. Thank you."

What a bummer—it was a valuable resource.

Oh no. I’ll need to do some research to see if any other site provides something similar. I rarely chose my seat before consulting SeatGuru, RIP…

As of September 2021 attempting to contact the site via "Contact Me" to update seat maps results in the reply "Thank you for your interest in SeatGuru. Currently we are not making additional updates to our content on the site and are unable to provide other support. -SeatGuru".

The decent thing to do would be to post on the site that it is 'dead'.

This may be an option--https://seatmaps.com/about/

Yikes! Guess I will go recheck some seat selections I made recently. Thanks, Joe, for the link to SeatMaps.

Since I only fly Air Canada Business Class now, I make sure to book my seats in the first 5 rows, either A or K. That way, should AC decide to flip equipment, I'm always covered off ie. no need to sweat-out the change.

That explains why SeatGuru's Delta maps were not matching up to Delta's seat selection maps. They weren't reflecting the refurbishment program of the old Northwest A330's.

So not cool not to update the website to indicate this

Thank you, Scudder, for this important information. I feel as though my favorite tv show has just been canceled.

Thanks for sharing the official word about Seatguru.

Just checked Seatmaps for a seat I just sat in, and their data is incorrect (AF777-300, 4-class, 39C) for that seat. AF wishes those seats were 18" wide, and for 39C the pitch is about 6 feet, as it's an exit row. Seatmaps lists it at 32", which they say is the pitch for all of economy. Aerolopa has it at 31" for the economy cabin. Aerolopa's width figure of 17.2 is what I measured it at (and, yes, I measured), so that's more accurate than Seatmaps. Think I'll go with Aerolopa, as well as the opinions expressed by the fine folks on FlyerTalk.

I happened to be looking at aerolopa.com earlier today. It lacks seat evaluation (pros and cons); but its detailed seat map actually reflects the actual location of windows with respect to the seats ... a cool feature!
I hope they will continue to improve on it; especially the user navigation interface.

Another thanks for posting @Scudder. I don't travel too much, but I did notice Seat Guru had different information than my actual airline carrier. It was perplexing , lol

Another thanks for the post. As well as thanks for the alternative sites.

Thanks, Scudder - I've been going there for years and noticed recently it was not as accurate as before. Thanks for following up on this and letting us know.

Too bad Trip Advisor doesn't support the site anymore although I noticed they still have lots of affiliate advertising that I'm sure they're cashing in on.
