Planning a first time trip to Ireland. Need information re: using the trains in Ireland for transport.

Ireland doesn't have the most robust train system in Europe - far from it - just a few main lines running down the middle of the island. What they do have is an extensive system of buses.
At one time I was planning a trip to Ireland, and I found I could get to all the major sites by bus. Look at the website, http://www.buseireann.ie.

Ireland is a driving country. I've found incredible Ireland travel deals on flights/hotels/rentnal cars on TripMasters.com.
