Rhine boat cruise - possible as a day trip from Frankfurt Airport?

I will be arriving at Frankfurt Main Airport from Strasbourg at approximately 11:15 am and am considering a cruise on the Rhine River that day. Is it possible to catch a train from the airport to Bingen, board the KD Line boat in Bingen at 2:30pm and arrive in Koblenz at 6:10 pm to catch the train back to Frankfurt Airport? I will be staying at an airport hotel that evening before flying home the next morning.

The train connections and boarding times for the boat look possible but it's difficult to know if this is actually feasible with walking distances/times factored in. Thanks in advance.

According to the Bahn website, the total trip, from the Regional Bahnhof (underground, across the street from FRA Terminal 1), to the K-D dock in Bingen, including a 10 minute walk from the Bingen STADT Bahnhof, should take about 1h20m, so you will have plenty of time if the plane is on time. On weekdays, there is an S-Bahn leaving the Regbf at 11:59, with a 5 minute change in Mainz, arriving at the Stadt Bahnhof at 13:00. The S-Bahn comes into Mainz on track 1, the closest "through" track to the lobby. Your regional train to Bingen departs on track 11, which is a "stub" track next to track 1, on the end opposite to where you came in. Get off the S-Bahn, walk along the platform in the same direction the train was going, and you should see your train on your right. There will probably be a sign next to the door saying "Koblenz", the ultimate destination of the train.

Coming back from Koblenz is not so pretty. You have to walk about 15 minutes to the "Rheinfähre" (Rhine ferry), then take a 12 minute bus ride to the station. Looks like the first train out of Koblenz leaves around 7:10 PM and there is a change in Wiesbaden. I've never been in that station, so I can't tell you where to go. You'll get back to FRA at about 9:30.

I think if I were you I would only go as far as St. Goar. You'ld get there sooner and the station is only a short walk up the hill from the KD dock. The best part of the Rhein is from Bacharach to St. Goar anyway.
