Reworked Itinery

I am just wondering if this is too much travel on planes
manchester 4 nights, fly to venice via London, 3 nights then fly to Paris 6 nights, then eurostar to London 4 nights.

Or should I be looking at changing it around. Manchester seems to make things complicated but we have to go because of family.

The other idea is starting in London
london 4 nights, fly to venice 3 nights, fly to paris 6 nights and then fly to manchester and then fly home?

If you can get an open jaw flight try starting in Venice, then to Paris, chunnel to London, and maybe train to Manchester.

The "open jaw" mentioned by Melissa would eliminate the time and cost of back-tracking. An open jaw airfare may initially look higher than roundtrip airfare, but the comparison that should be made is the cost of the open jaw airfare compared to the total cost of the roundtrip airfare plus the cost of back-tracking (which is eliminated in the open jaw option), and also considering time saved by eliminating the back-tracking. Sometimes roundtrip is better and sometimes open jaw: You never know which is better until you make the correct comparison.
