We plan to take the train from Munich to Reutte, Austria and from there we would plan to explore the surrounding area and castles in Germany. Rick's 2008 guide suggests renting a car in Fussen. Can a car be rented in Reutte? If so where? Also, do you know how much the first class train fare from Munich to Reutte is and what the train schedule is? Thank you.

The fastest, least expensive route to Reutte is through Garmish-Partenkirchen. First class fare is €37,90 per person (€75,80 for two!), but IMO there is no good reason to use first class. For second class you can use a Bayern-Ticket at €27 for two to five people.
Also, there are buses from Reutte to Füssen. Why go to the time and expense of renting a car for a 25 mile RT?
