If you are renting a car at cdg airport is it best to retun it to cdg? How difficult is it to drive in that area and find rental return? Or are there better locations near paris to return the car? Just worried about driving in Paris.
Thank you.
It depends on the direction from which you are coming. If you're planning on coming back from Brittany, driving to CDG would be fine. Driving to an airport is quite easy and you won't have to pay anything extra to drop there.
You don't have to actually drive through downtown Paris to reach CDG. Depending from which direction you are driving, you may have to drive along Le Perferique (the ring road that surrounds Paris). Traffic isn't great here, but it's at least managable, and you don't have worry about navigating all the complex back streets of Paris.
Each terminal of CDG has a rental return area. You just have to know your departure terminal in advanced and drive to it.
Thank you for your help. Our plan is to drive from birttany, visit Giverny and return the car to Paris. We will be staying a few days in Paris near Gare du Nord. We are just concerned about driving in Paris and don't know if a Paris car rental return (and where) or a CDG return is most reasonable and not too hectic.
Thanks again.
Are you renting from Auto Europe? Their drop-off point in Nanterre is only a few blocks from the Nanterre Prefecture RER A station which is well west of central Paris.
