Is it cheaper to buy a one way ticket in europe for travel to the USA rather than to buy a round trip air ticket USA to Europe in the States? Do I save any money buying two one-way tickets?
Air fare pricing is always a game of smoke and mirrors...however, I doubt 2 one-way tickets are cheaper than 1 roundtrip. Why don't you just price it out yourself? Go to your travel website and put in the dates and times you want to fly and compare prices of roundtrip verses one way...then you can come back and tell us what you found.
While it's often cheaper or the same price to buy one way tickets for travel within the US that's same logic rarely works for travel to Europe. But price it everyway you can and go with the cheapest option.
Are you thinking got two one way tickets because you want to fly into one and out of another? If so you should check with the airline for an open jaw ticket which would allow you to do this...most times I have found round trip to be the best price
Some airlines call it "mulit destination" so I would try that.. its almost always quite a bit cheaper then two one way tickets.
