Reservations w/a Rail Pass & EurAide

Is there a better/cheaper site than Rail Europe to make seat reservations for popular lines? I'm unable to book several of the trains I need on this site and it seems quite expensive for reservations on top of purchasing rail passes. The DB Bahn site is great but does not allow for booking just reservations on routes going through multiple countries. Also, has anyone recently used EurAide? Is it a reliable/trustworthy alternative to booking reservations and passes on my own? Thanks!!

If you'll need multiple reservations, Rick Steves recommends buying them from EurAide. You can buy all the reservations you want for as many trains as you want at in-Europe prices for one handling fee. Even with the fee, your total cost should be less than buying them from Rail Europe.

Euraide has been in business a long time. I've visited their office in Munich (socially). I've never needed to do business with them, so I can't say I have experience with them, but otherwise I think they are trustworthy. As far as reservations are concerned, unless they are mandatory reservations, which might be limited to passholders and sell out, I would just wait until you are in Europe to get them.

Thanks Lee, the reservations I need are definitely mandatory ones. My wife and I going to Paris, Interlaken ost (to Gimmalwald), Cinque Terre, Rome, Florence, somewhere in Germany and Amsterdam over 17 days so we need to take several high speed lines and some overnight trains too. Any help you or others could give regarding the best/cheapest way to make mandatory reservations would be awesome since we've never been overseas. Thanks again!
