reservations needed on train from Lucca to Genova?

Hi, we are planning on traveling though Cinque Terra, and stopping for lunch on the way to Genova. Do we need to make reservations on the train. We have Passes. also, does anyone know where we could store our luggage for a few hours? Thank you.

IF the train requires a reservation (and most do these days) then you will need to purchase a reservation for each leg. IF it is a regional train which does not require reservations, then you can just get on and off. You will just have to see if the train station has luggage storage.

You are likely to take a combination of regionale trains and IC trains. There is open seating and no reservations are possible on regionale trains. Seat reservations are required on IC trains. The cost for passholders is €3.00. You can buy them at virtually any Trenitalia station. The only station on your route that is close to the Cinque Terre and has left luggage facilities is La Spezia Centrale.

Thanks so much. Great information. Guess we'll have to take our luggage with us. Does the train stop in all of the 5 CT cities? Which one would be the best one to stop at.
Thanks, Nancy
