Reservation for Venice to Munich

I accidently made a reservation for a night train on the wrong day and now bahn.com says the day I want seems to be full except for seats sitting up, and I know my parents in their 60s won't go for that. I'm trying to go from Venice to Munich on Tuesday, August 3rd.

I can book on RailEurope.com for $500+ for 4 people, but that seems so high compared to the 120 euros I paid on bahn.com for a reservation for 4 berth cabin.

Do you think I will be able to make reservations for that night once we get to Italy on the 1st of August or should I buck-up and pay the $500 to Rail Europe? Or is there another option I can consider?

RailEurope is not known for good options or good prices.

If the Bahn says compartments are sold out, I would not count on getting them either from RailEurope or in Europe. There is also Euraide, but, they get their tickets from the Bahn. If the Bahn says that train is sold out, you probably can't get reservations from anyone.
