RER VS Rossybus from CDG to Rue St Dominique

What would you take RER or Rossybus? We will be arriving at CDG from the US early in the morning after traveling for 2 nights. We plan to have one carryon and a tote bag each. Our apt is on Rue St Dominique in the 7th. This is in late Novemeber if that makes a difference weather wise...
Thanks for your advise.

Dianna, how early in the morning and what day of the week? I guess I'd prefer the RER & Metro depending on the time and day because after flying more than 24- hours I find it challenging to deal with crowds. After having the challenge of getting my convertible back pack in the bin under the bus and then getting in line to climb on, only to learn there was no room for me, I prefer not to take the shuttlebus. An expensive alternative is a taxi at 50-60 Euro.

To save taxi fare, you could take the RER to Gare du Nord which is the first major train station the RER reaches in Paris. From there, I suggest you find the taxi stand and take a taxi to your hotel. Taxi may cost 15-20 Eu. Taxi from the airport for two may not be a bad deal for two very tired, jetlagged passengers. Notify your apartment manager of your expected time of arrival. You won't want to wait until mid-day to get into your new apartment.

First time travelling to Paris (this August, no threat of winter cold or snow!) and my daughter and I took the Roissybus to Opera Garnier and Metro line 8 (direction Balard) to the 7th. We each had a carry on bag and personal bag. Stepping outside the terminal at CDG we easily saw signage for the bus and waited at the curb. Paid the driver (had euros, could have used credit card) and had plenty of room in air conditioned comfort for the ride. At the Opera Garnier metro station, purchased a carnet and had no trouble getting ourselves and our bags onto the metro. I thought it easy and impressive how well the public transport ran from airport to city.

Merci for your replys... I arrive Sat at 8:30am and will already have the keys to the apt. Darcy does that make a difference in taking the Rossybus? In looking at the maps I thought I would take the RER to St Michel and then transfer to RER C and get off at Muse d' Orsay station.
Swan do you still think it better to get off at Gare du Nord and take a taxi to apt? I have taken a taxi into Paris before but took the Bart into San Fransisco and it was super easy...so I thought I would like to try the public transportation in Paris.

Dianna, Since you are familiar with the RER and metro and are packing light, you should have no trouble. As you proposed, take the RER B to Saint-Michel Notre-Dame and transfer to the RER C. Take it to either Musee d'Orsay or Invalides, whichever is closer to your apartment.

My suggestion was to offer a compromise between the RER + Metro option and a long, expensive taxi from the airport. If you are exhausted or disoriented, make it easy for yourselves by taking a taxi. If you have the energy &/or want to save money, take the RER/Metro option or the RER B followed by RER C. The RER ticket from the airport will also work in the Metro in Paris, but to get to your apt I think you will need transfer between two Metro lines. I like the suggestion here about simply taking RER B from the airport then transfer to RER C in Paris. There are overhead monitors in the RER stations that will help you know which train to take.

On October 11th, the RER was on strike. I found this out at the RER station the morning when I was to leave for the airport. Always have a plan B in Paris. They are known for sudden strikes. We had to plan a route useing the metro, because there were no phones to call a taxie to the airport.
