We are in Paris and have a RER ticket to CDG. My question is, can you start your trip with this ticket on the metro and change to the RER, or is there some point where you have to begin the RER journey? I don't want to mess up by using the ticket in the wrong place.

Bill, if you go to parisbytrain.com, you will find all the info you need for using the RER and Metro, including the RER to and from CDG.

And hold on to that ticket because you'll need it to exit the platform at CDG.
