Can anyone tell me if we can get from Terminal 2E, I think, to the Luxembourg Gardens RER stop without having to change trains? I am 65 and it's hard to go through the turnstiles and take the stairs even with a light suitcase.
Thanks
Yep. It's the next stop after St Michel.
Thanks so much. Yes I found this site too and I think even I can follow the instructions. It's so helpful to see the actual signs so you know what you are looking for. You don't by any chance know if there is an elevator or escalator at the Luxembourg RER station? We can probably cope with the stairs but it would be nice to know we don't have to.
Thanks again
Mary
Escalator.
Edit: Wife's recollection is different than mine, and I think she's correct. Escalator exists, but it is from deeper levels and the last bit to the street is a flight of stairss. The post below is of no help for metro, but infomobi.com is. Elevators exist at St Michel (1/2 mi down hill from Lux), and at Port Royal (1/2 mi up hill from Lux).
My idea would be to hop off at Lux Gardens if that's the closest. People are friendly -- as soon as somebody sees that your luggage is giving you fits, they'll tote it to the top of the stairs and wait for you. And, no, they won't steal it.
