Required time to connect flights in Frankfurt

We are traveling to Berlin but our initial flight ends Frankfort. The AA flight is scheduled to arrive at 9:10 am. An EasyJet flight to Berlin leaves at 10:50 with EasyJet requiring passengers to be in the boarding area 30 minutes before departure. Can we make that flight? Our other options are a 4-hr train ride or waiting for a flight at 3:15. I'd appreciate any insight anyone has had there.

No don't do 10:50. The AA flight to Frankfurt will not depart ontime causing you stress before you even get there or you will be running sweating ; just go with one of the other options if you are not prepared to waste money.

Since it's a separate ticket I'd choose the later flight--Frankfurt is my favorite airport for connections, several good places to eat and I love their Pocket Shop, great book store with plenty of books in English.

Agree with both suggestions - and, if I may add to it....I've been in cities smaller than the Frankfurt airport.

Make sure you check in online and print out your EasyJet boarding pass before leaving home. That will save time.
You will need to go through immigration when you land at Frankfurt.
Have you got hold luggage? If yes, you will need to pick it up after immigration and drop it off again at the EasyJet bag drop off (self-service, you scan your boarding pass and attach labels yourself).
EasyJet, like most cut-price airlines is strict about the 30 minute deadline. If you are not at the gate on time they will leave without you.

You incoming flight could be late (head winds), immigration could take 30 minutes, etc., etc. No way can you make the 10:50 flight.

Thank you to all who replied. You have confirmed our suspicions. We are going to take the train and either enjoy the view or get some sleep before we take off running on the tours!

Alternative: Fly to Berlin on one itinerary. Assuming you are leaving from North America, there will be an airplane transfer, either on the west or the east side of the Atlantic. Few intercontinental airlines can fly non-stop to Berlin. I don't know your departure city or your date so here is a wild second-guess. In May, from Atlanta, there are many connecting flights, and cheaper by about $100 than getting off in Frankfurt. Faster, too. You won't find easyJet listed; it is just beginning to set up connections with other airlines. If you do stick to your plan, read the complete easyJet rules. You must check in on-line up to a month in advance because it is costly to do so at the airport. Luggage rules will probably be tighter than on AA. Their one-bag rule for cabin luggage is notorious. They mean ONE, not one plus a purse plus a computer.

Yes, we are familiar with EasyJet rules having flown with them last fall from Belfast to Stansted. That was part of the reason we were nervous about it. We have a direct flight from Dallas to Frankfurt - not inexpensive but I have found that waiting for cheaper fares may mean that the economy Comfort seats are gone. The new classes of premium economy and seat configurations also increases costs and difficulty in selecting flights. That's part of the game. Compromise is necessary to do what one wants to do!
