Renting a car on a Sunday in Tours, France

We are traveling from Paris to Tours on Sunday, 6 Sept. I am coming up empty trying to find a rental car at either of the Tours rail stations, though I can get one at the airport.

Are the rail station rental places closed on Sundays? If so, can we get a taxi to take us from the train to the airport? How much would that cost? I did try to find these answers on my own, but I'm coming up empty with my Google searches tonight.

We are staying at a B&B in Esvres and need to return the car on Tuesday 8 Sept.

And perhaps there are other options besides renting a car? We really want to see the Loire Valley.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Question: Can we get a taxi to take us from the train to the airport?

I don't know why not, even on a Sunday in France there should be taxi service from the main train station to the airport. The airport is about 5 miles north of the main train station, on the other side (north side) of the river.

I don't know any way to get taxi rates online, but it's only 5 miles to the airport.

A car is by far your best option for what you want to do. And do yourself a favor, get a GPS, will save you time and stress for the navigating you'll need to do.

After you pick up the car, to get to Esvres from the airport, you'll have to go back across the river and southeast about 20 miles to Esvres.

BTW, it's not uncommon for car rental places to be closed on Sunday in France.
