Hi! I was planning on renting a car this summer (1 month) to get to/from my internship, which happens to be on the other side of town (I already estimated it would take over 3 hours via multiple train/metro/buses). Where should I look? I don't need anything fancy..
3 hours (Total or each way?) seems to be a high estimate. I don't have any details for you, but do know that Rome traffic can be bad and parking non-existant. If you are in the outskirts and traveling over to the other outskirts it may make sense if you can avoid city center, but consider cost and logistics of parking before you make a final decision. Read through some of the posts on the Italy board, there is a guy who posts frequently (Ron?) who is an ex-pat living and working in Rome now, he may be a good source of info.
Paul,
Thanks a lot! Yes, three hours. I am living about an hour north of the city, I know the traffic is bad, which is why I am hesitant to get a rental car...
