I know that the rental agreements say that if you cross over into the North, that there is a surcharge, but is there any rental company that would let you take the car via ferry into the UK proper? Or would it simply be easier to take a rail/sail and pickup a rental in Scotland or Wales? Planning a trip for this September, and would like to drive around in both Ireland and GB, so looking for the best cost effective solution.
