Rent car in Seville

We are renting a car for 3 days on our way out of Seville. We will then be returning to fly out of Seville. Any thoughts on what website to rent through? Also we will be driving south so the airport doesn't seem like an ideal location to pick up the car although the rental company may tack on a big fee to pick up and drop off in different locations

We are also planning to rent a car in Sevilla. What I (think) I have learned:

Best to rent before your travel. Pick any US company. For example both Avis and Enterprise have offices at the Sevilla train station. We plan to depart Sevilla by train. You could always take a taxi to your best rental option. You can go on line now and check prices and pickup/dropoff options

From RS sources: "Booking a Car" --- Good idea to get an International Drivers Permit

http://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpapplc.html to get an application, $15, and take to AAA store

Also from RS - Booking a Car: For the best deal on long-term rentals, book in advance from home.”

“When Booking a Rental Car -- Before you commit, make sure you understand these variables:
• What the car company’s basic insurance covers
• What they charge for CDW (and the cost of zero-deductible “super CDW” coverage)
• The cost of theft insurance (required in Italy)
• The cost of adding another driver
• One-way rental fees (if you’ll be returning the car to a different city)
• Office locations and hours (consider the most efficient pickup and drop-off points)
• Whether it’d be cheaper to pick up the car from an office in the city center
• Whether the agency will deliver the car to your hotel (expect to pay extra)
• The cost of changing your drop-off location or time
• The availability and cost of extras you might want, such as automatic transmission, child-safety seats, GPS, or Wi-Fi
• Age restrictions (if you or any co-drivers are under 25 or over 69)
• Restrictions on driving the car in any countries (particularly in far-eastern Europe)
• Additional charges or local fees, such as mandatory road taxes or winter-tire fees
• Cancellation fees, in case your itinerary changes”

In the city, several rental agencies are located at the train station. EuropeCar is a European supplier I've used in other countries, although I booked them through the US consolidator AutoEurope. Might be worthwhile to compare prices. Either airport or train station could be deemed a "premium" location with associated fee, but in general, there's not much issue with dropping at a different location in the same country.

I've booked through Auto Europe (Hertz, Europcar) directly with Europcar. I start with Auto Europe, and then check with the rental company - sometimes the direct price is better. You need to read the fine print. Some charges may be additional in one quote and included in another. . . road fees, location surcharges, partial insurance for example. Also try gemut.com, another U.S. based outfit. Sometimes they'll have a better price. I think you have to request a quote. There is a lot of useful information on their website for newbie renters.
