Has anyone has success purchasing online Renfe train tickets with US credit card?

Have purchased several times in the past. There are several posts here on line as to the "how to".

Renfe is not a problem, It is trenitalia, Italian rail, that has been the problem. Recent reports are that the situation has changed.
