Renault Lease Buy Back- Swiss/Austrian Toll Questions

We're heading off for a trip in July and we'll be leasing a Renault (pick up City is Geneva, but we're actually picking the car up in France). We want to follow the laws of the land. I have read that I need a vignette for Switzerland and an Autobahnvignette for Austria. Can I buy these passes at Gas stations/rest stops or do I need to order them before we leave?

Also, do I need a similar pass for Germany or Italy? How does one go about paying tolls in Italy on the Autostrada?

John, for Austria i bought the vignette at the first gas station i saw, it was very close to the border crossing. I believe your can do the same in Switzerland. No vignettes required for Italy and Germany. I am pretty sure we used a credit card for tolls on the Autostrada.

Yes, you can buy both the Austrian and Swiss "vignettes" at gas stations. Postoffices too. You don't have to order them before you leave.

Contact your leasing agency to see if they can provide it. Even rental companies will sell you the vignette if you ask in advanced.
