I'm considering using a private driver to get me to my flight at Nice airport the morning of Saturday, April 4. I'd like to get picked up at my homestay near the village of Rousset, and arrive at the Nice airport about 9 a.m. Can you recommend a company or driver?
The alternative is to leave my homestay a day early, get a ride to Aix-en-Provence, take a bus to Nice and spend the night in an airport hotel. This is a little cheaper but seems more stressful.
I welcome suggestions for a super-reliable service.
Have you contacted the tourist information office in Aix? When I was there in 2023 I found their services to be comprehensive & very helpful. I see you have verified there is a bus you can take. The bus station in Aix is very modern and clean. I used it to get to Avignon and was pleased with the bus and the service.
It’s the Flixbus that goes to the Nice Airport. If you go the evening before, you can take the train to Marseille and a second local train directly to the airport.
Thanks for these suggestions!
Has anyone else used a private driver? I'd love to be able to complete my homestay and leave on Saturday morning, but it would be essential to have a reliable driver.
Last month we used a private driver based in Nice. We were going the other direction, to Menton, and then again a week later back to the Nice airport. This was an extravagance for us, but we're old and valued the door-to-door convenience. We had used him a few years ago; he's very nice and quite reliable, sending his brother if he's not available. I don't know how far he's willing to drive nor how much you're willing to pay. He charged us 80 Euro; another driver we could have booked was 90 and we were told that was "a special rate." Your distance is more than 3 times as far. If you're still interested, I can send you his contact info.
