Timetable quotes only 8 mins to change platforms from TGV to TER to continue my journey. Anyone know of an online plan of tracks. or has had experience changing here? i.e. lots of stairs or is it straightforward?
Usually you must go downstairs then upstairs to cross over. I don't think 8 minutes is enough time. TGV staff once recommended at least 12 minutes. Sometimes, you never know when-trains do get delayed.
What's your route? That is, where are you starting from and what is your destination?
Eve There are nearly hourly local trains between Reims and Charleville-Mez during the day. If you get a good rate why not jump on it and if you miss the TER (probably won't) sit down with a Café au Lait for a while and watch the world pass. The TER shouldn't care about reservations. You didn't say what time of day your connection is so I can't be more specific. Mebbe you're traveling in the very late evening?
I'm going fro Paris to Charleville. But I need to change from the TGV platform to the TER platform, so I feel I would need more than 8 mins. I was trying to take advantage of PREMS rates, but I guess a change of plan is needed. Thanks.
What a relief! I've managed to find a nonstop TGV train that fits my schedule.
Thank you for the suggestions. I believe I'll take your advice about the stopover for the return trip.
