Regional ticket included in my ticket from Varenna to Verona

Hello all,
I usually wait to going to Italy to purchase tickets, but since we are traveling with a group of six, I thought it would be best to get all the tickets needed. We are leaving Varenna (lago di Como) and going to Verona and part of the purchase is a regional segment from Varenna to Milano Centrale. Since these are paper receipts with a barcode and QR code, how can we validate this or do we need to validate? The trenitalia website is difficult to navigate, especially if there are more than 5 people traveling together, is there a trick to this? Thank you for your help!

Tickets printed on plain paper won't fit in the validation machine, therefore regional tickets sold online have a date on them and have different rules from those you buy in the station. Trenitalia says:

"Electronic regional tickets are issued already validated. You can not anticipate the departure, you can not change the ticket and the ticket is not refundable. Tickets are nominative and associated to passenger's name and surname inserted in the passengers details. Electronic regional tickets must be shown together with a valid identity document, when requested by a staff member. Before departure print the PDF attached to the purchase email or show it on the screen of an electronic device (PC, tablet, smartphone) able to properly display it."
