We just returned from a trip to Lake Garda and had a wonderful private driver, Nicola, who took us all the way around the lake. Our whirlwind one day excursion far exceeded our expectations. Finding Nicola took a lot of research and so I wanted to post his contact info to help others to have a memorable experience in the enchanting cities that surround the lake.
Here are the reasons why I am recommending Nicola:
- Excellent, responsive communication via email pre-trip
- His command of English made the all day trip interesting as we talked about ideas and options for stops and sights along the route.
- Nicola has a tremendous knowledge of the area and “non-touristy” spots and made suggestions to us. He then dropped us to explore for 30 min to an hour and then met us at a specified location. For example, he suggested visiting darling historic towns that we hadn’t heard of and also suggested a free delicious wine tasting at a local winery at the end of the day. Things our exhaustive hours of research did not uncover.
- The car was very comfortable full size sedan, with a surprise (to us) benefit of having a thick plastic barrier professionally installed between the front and back seats. This barrier provided Covid safety and the ability for us to remove our masks, while still able to see out the front window and talk with Nicola.
- Nicola consistently wore a face mask.
