Recommendation for car service Linz-Hallstatt, Passau-Cesky Krumlov, Cesky Krumlov-Prague

We are currently on a trip visiting cities in Germany, Austria and the Check Republic; including a Viking River Cruise and personal excursions on our own. For our personal excursions we were lucky enough to find Daniel at EU Shuttle (eushuttlebus.com, contact at [email protected]). I cannot say enough good things about Daniel and his staff. They were terrific! All of the 4 drivers we used were on time, courteous and safe drivers and the prices were very competitive. We decided to use a driver because of time constraints, flexible timing and less hassle being door to door.

Because we planned to go to Cesky Krumlov (CK) on our own after the cruise, we opted not to take the CK tour offered by Viking. Instead we had EUShuttle drivers pick us up at Linz port and drive to the darling village of Hallstatt. (It’s about 1 hr 45 min drive...highly recommend going to Hallstatt and be sure to do the Salt Mine tour, it is a blast!). Daniel arranged for a driver to get us there and a different driver to pick us up at the end of the day. We did not pay for any of the trip until the trip back to the ship. Cost for 4 adults R/T was 400 EU.

When the cruise ended in Passau we needed to be transported to CK. Daniel did not have any drivers available. I begged him to find someone because I really wanted to use a company that I could depend on. He found a driver.... he asked a personal friend to drive round trip from CK to Passau to transport us! Cost for 2 adults was 130EU.

At the end of the CK trip we took one of Daniel’s shuttle vans to Prague. Even though this was not an individual car/trip it was comfortable and the driver was great. Cost for 2nadults was 90 EU.

I would not hesitate to use EUshuttle again. They really made travel in unfamiliar countries easy.

Patty, for the benefit of other travellers:

  • How much did each leg cost?
  • How many of you were there travelling?
  • Was there any particular reason you did not want to use trains for these trips?

There are also a few such shuttle services operating out of Cesky Krumlov that take clients throughout the region--as far as Salzburg, Prague, Vienna and even Budapest. They get outstanding ratings and are fairly priced. You can Google Cesky Krumlov tourism to find them.
